The members of Saccharomycotina reproduce by budding and they do not produce ascocarps (fruiting bodies).
The subdivision includes a single class: Saccharomycetes, which again contains a single order: Saccharomycetales.
Members of Saccharomycotina are the baker's yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae and the genus Candida that includes several human pathogens.

Mycology
Yeast; unicellulair fungi, not forming hyphae.
Use: yeast are used to ferment carbohydrates into alcohol and carbondioxide; teh carbon dioxide gas gives rise to thebubbling, the raising of bread; making beer, wine, bread.

Taxonomy
Saccharomycetes is the first diverging lineage in Ascomycota. They form the yeasts, or true yeasts. Yeast is not a clade. Most Yeasts are classified is Saccharomycetes. Other yeasts are Schizosaccharomycetes in Ascomycota, Tremellomycetes, Microbotryomycetes in Basidiomycota.
