6.10 Platinum, Case 1
A 30 year old woman comes with symptoms of hayfever, sneezing, itching nose and watery discharge, < cats, < dogs, < hair and dust, dry and warm air. It started when she was 17 and she had taken her final school exams. She did not know what to do next and felt alone in her situation.
She often feels tired and weak and it makes her feel depressed and lonely. All she wants to do is lie in bed and cry, although a strict regime of work usually makes her feel better. She feels worse when she is doing things that other people, like parents or society, are expecting her to do. She feels she has to create something very big to satisfy everybody.
She is quite proud and easily offended. She won’t say it but will show it by going off on her own. She feels totally out of place in society, as if she is not accepted. She also feels terribly powerless and has the sensation as if she is wearing a coat that is too big. This theme often comes out in her dreams. She dreams she has to play tennis using a tea strainer. The tea strainer is too small and keeps bending. She can’t hit the ball properly because there is a big machine in the way just behind her.
She also had a dream in which she was walking near an area that was fenced off with little flags. There was a little girl inside the fenced area. She jumped in as well and turned round to discover a huge black crowd of people who had followed her. She thought: ‘What have I started?!’.
She is having a relationship with another woman. Sexuality is a painful subject. She can’t surrender to it because she is afraid. She also has sexual dreams, that she is going insane from too much sex, or that someone catches her masturbating.
She loves books and theatre and she is very poetic. Sometimes she gets onto the stage with tow friends and they perform all sorts of rituals, which gives them the giggles because they are just talking rubbish.
She has a good sense of humour and she is very loyal. She tends to live with her head in the clouds and hates reality. She is very involved in spirituality and following her inner path.
Generals
Weather: cold, sun, fear of thunder.
Perspiration: axilla, < night.
Time: < night.
Desires: oven dishes, starch, spices, nuts, alcohol.
Aversion: fatty meat, milk.
Food: < fried bacon.
Menses: much bleeding (3), stomach pains (2) and tiredness.
Analysis
A typical symptom is her pride and touchiness. This would indicate either the Silver- or the Gold series. The dream that their is suddenly a huge black crowd of people behind her is more indicative of the Gold series. Being big is a matter of course for her: she is wearing a coat that is too big, she has to create something big. This indicates Stage 10, thus we get to Platinum.
I have to add that I took this case 5 years ago and solved it in the ‘classical’ manner.
I took the symptoms: feeling large, easily offended, lesbian, fear of sexuality, dreams of going mad through too much sex.
Apart from this there are some more symptoms belonging to the Gold series: depressed, > tight work schedule, spirituality.
Other Platinum symptoms: going off on her own, away from other people, feels she doesn’t fit in society, dreams about playing tennis with a tea strainer that bends [too small], not being able to hit the ball properly because there is a big [Platinum] machine just behind her, unable to realise her power, lonely and sick.
Reaction
The hayfever disappeared within a month of taking Sabadilla 1M. But after Platinum her whole condition improved. She gradually felt better and better and within a few months she did not feel depressed or tired anymore.
