642.13.05 Ranunculus flammula, Case
Woman, 30, sleepless.
She falls asleep immediately but then wakes around 1 am. She tends to worry about the children. Diagnostics in the hospital with the electroencephalogram showed that she has no deep sleep.
She has had backaches the last four years. It is in her left lumbar region and sometimes she has numbness in her whole left leg. The pain is worse from sneezing and missing her step wrongly and better by standing bent forward. Her back is stiff and stooping is difficult, her left hip is standing higher than the right one. These complaints started after labour. She can have sciatica acutely with a sensitivity of her thighs, which are hot alternating cold. She has to walk bent then.
She can also have migraines, a throbbing pain in the back of her head for two days and then she has to lie down. She has this about once a year when she has done too much and the weather is too hot. She eats too much. Her stool is not well formed, alternating with constipation. She is homesick and has an aversion to holidays, preferring to stay at home all the time. She feels unsafe on holidays and has a fear that someone will die or there is no hospital.
She had regular frontal sinusitis, coming back every year. She had varicose veins which were stripped in both legs. She had had a cyst in the right ovary which was operated on.
She is very emotional about everything, from looking at a movie, people dying, by reading a sad book. She can be sentimental, even weepy when someone wins the first prize. She has a fear of driving a car or having an accident, a fear of dark. She has a fear of mirrors in the night, fearing that she will see someone standing behind her. In the night she has a fear of going downstairs alone with the feeling that someone is standing behind her.
She feels very unsure and does not have the courage to ask questions at seminars. She fears that she will start crying. She is unsure in her social contacts, when the other person is distant or does not say anything. This is better when someone is friendly. She does not dare to be the first to speak. She can be nervous, hurried and trembling, as if she has drunk too much coffee, as if she is in love and has butterflies in her tummy. It is the feeling as if something will happen, as if she is nervous like a horse before a race.
It is difficult to start a quarrel. This is from being polite but also out of the feeling that she is not able to stand up for herself. She does not like to stay in the role of the child all her life, she wants to become an adult.
Her first boyfriend was dominating her and had other relationships beside her. It turned out that he was homosexual and she decided to leave him. Later she married another man but that was only after they had had a relationship for a long time. They often quarrelled because he did not propose to her. She has one daughter.
Her mother died when she was two. She was present when it happened and after that wept continuously until she got some medication in the hospital. She does not remember anything of it anymore. She was the youngest of a big family. She loved it and it was very cosy, her brothers and sisters playing with her.
