644.55.01 Medicago sativa, Case
Woman, 50, chronic fatigue syndrome.
She has been very tired for 20 years after a period when she was working very hard, running a household, working, studying for a higher degree and doing a lot of hobbies. She had chest pain and oppression and she feared a heart attack. It was diagnosed as inflammation of the joints of ribs to sternum. She was too tired to eat, could not even move a spoon to her mouth. She had pains in her joints, muscles and bones, cramps in legs at night, pain in her right arm and left leg and pain in her hand, dropping things. Her toes are cold as if dead or burning from heat for ten years, < warm applications, < valerian. She is so tired that small exertions make her weep. Life was useless but she carried on for her children.
She has big memory problems, forgetting the meaning of words, losing her way. She makes mistakes like putting meals in the refrigerator instead of the stove, wonders why the car will not start when she is sitting in the back.
Her husband was an alcoholic who beat her. She went on with him because he was always promising to stop and go to therapy. She always hoped it would become better. She did not tell anyone, including her family, because she did not want them to always see him as an alcoholic if he recovered. Her family was astonished when she left in the end.
She works as a teacher and is very patient in teaching. She is perfectionistic.
